About

My name is Jenny Sarabia. I am a professional photographer & videographer. While focusing on my art, I understand the importance of sharing a message of compassion and understanding. My vision is to highlight the good, the positive and the fun in this world. I am not naive. I am knowingly familiar with stories shared on the nightly news yet I prefer to showcase the positive by highlighting people or situations that are strong examples of things to emulate. My history is living proof that prayers and hard work can result in a happy life.

Below you will learn about my work history.

PUBLIC POLICY EXPERIENCE
  • Schedule C Presidential Appointee for President Obama - Advance Staff for U.S. Secretary Salazar & Jewell - DOI
  • Volunteer Deputy Regional Voter Protection Director, Florida - 2012 Presidential Campaign
  • Legislative Director, U.S. Representative Joe Baca
  • Staff Assistant, U.S. Senator Ken Salazar
  • Appointed Executive Director CHLA, Indiana Governor Kernan
As advance staff for DOI, I worked on events with US Representatives, US Senators, a Supreme Court Justice, 2 former US Presidents, President Obama, Governors, Mayors, Actors and advocates.  I worked with federal employees, non-profit organizations and for-profit entities. In addition, I served as a volunteer Deputy Regional Voter Protection Director in Florida for the 2012 Presidential campaign.

From 2007 to 2011, I worked for US Representative Joe Baca in Washington, DC.  I started as a Legislative Assistant and ultimately resigned as his Legislative Director shortly after the 111th Congress. Here, I managed the legislative agenda for the Congressman and managed his legislative team. We worked on every issue important to Americans. I helped write legislation and served as his staff assigned to the U.S. Natural Resources Committee.

After law school, I served as Indiana Governor Kernan's appointed Executive Director to the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs. This experience afforded me the opportunity to truly understand all issues of importance to the Latino community in the state of Indiana.  I traveled the state and represented the Governor's office. I was the first Executive Director to the newly created state agency. It was an honor to work with the commission members who were charged to focus on Latino issues.

During law school, I served as an International Human Rights Legal Intern.  I traveled and worked in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Switzerland and St. Lucia. I marveled as I experienced in person the history of places and people I read about while studying for my Latin American Studies undergraduate degree.

Without a doubt, my life experiences thus far have been challenging, rewarding and filled with God's blessings.  I attended HeadStart, received a free lunch and was bused to my high school.  As the first in my family to graduate from high school, college, law school and graduate school, I must share my hope. I feel an obligation to highlight the positive.

Most importantly, this website will serve as a vehicle for me to express my opinion on issues both current and historical. I can speak in my own voice, for myself. Although I am a Democrat, I will not speak on their behalf nor will I always be in agreement with the agenda. The opinions are my own.

I appreciate how blessed I am to have so many dreams come true.  I am grateful to God for his blessings. My mother taught me that the best way to return the favor of receiving God's blessing is to help others. I hope that this website will be a positive vehicle to learn about the good in life.
